Mud Puddles

Hullo Everyone,
My illustrated book ”mud puddles“ is now launched and available for your enjoyment. It was a big crowd that enjoyed the  premiere at the Gang Gang Gallery Lithgow in Saturday 21st  February and took away a signed copy with included a personalized Wyn mini poem. Many of you couldn’t make this event so here is a brief look at the book that you can then order on line. Don’t miss out on this first edition superbly produced colouful and stimulating art piece.

The book has many illustrations by the late John Ellison who characterized my poems and prose. We journey through a time warp which celebrates rural life, wild nature and the connection of people to the land and its ecosystems.

There are vintage family photos of me with koala and another bear hinting at my early life close encounters with big trees, plants and with wildlife. I was encouraged by Kathleen and Glyn my teacher parents who themselves were immersed in the Australian bush; they were also creative people, music, writing, singing, photography and the visual arts.

I like to think this, my first solo book is dedicated to their lifetime
communication of natures beauty to thousands of people and children, as I have done this too. And of their expression of love in the broadest of meanings, for each other and their humanity.

During my life I’ve studied some of Australia’s rarest species like glider possums, owls, the Wollemi Pine and endangered plants of the Blue Mountains. I’ve spent years in the tall forests with birds that depend on the big trees for survival and I have an incurable love of big trees. I’ve measured them, photographed them, smelled and listened to them and hugged them. You’ll see and hear this reading this book.

“Mud puddles“ takes life and love with nature and its beauty to many more people, and I hope you are one of them.
